We offer classes from kindergarten through Bar/Bat mitzvah on Mondays from
6:00 - 7:30 PM.  The synagogue draws students from nearby Rensselaer, Columbia, and Albany counties and Western Massachusetts. 

 

Teachers:

Our teachers provide a nurturing and individualized Jewish education in small classes enhanced by a creative, hands-on-approach. Through arts and crafts, music, drama, and games, children creatively explore Judaism

Fred Rheingold: Grades 5 and up
Fred, who was raised in Rensselaer County, earned his bachelor of arts in Hebrew Literature and received an MA in Jewish History from Columbia University. He also studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary,  Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Concordia University in Montreal. Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutor extraordinaire, Fred is well known throughout the area as a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher.   We are fortunate to have him.

Pam Tatar: Grades K-4
Pam is the administrator of our Hebrew School and has taught here for more than ten years.   She studied apparel design at Syracuse and Cornell Universities and is also a fiber artist who designs mixed-media Judaica.  Her artistic talents are an Important aspect of her programs at the Nassau Shul ranging from holiday décorations to Sukkah décor, all of which encompass her enthusiastic approach to Jewish education.
